Masonry Sand

Sand is a granular material made up of fine mineral particles and small remains of animals and plants.  It is a naturally occurring, finely divided rock and is comprised of particles or granules. An individual particle in this range size is termed a sand grain.  Sand is commonly divided into four categories based on size and use:  Masonry Sand, Bank Sand, Sandy Loam and Torpedo (Sharp/Concrete) Sand.  Masonry sand is a fine aggregate used in mortar mixtures for brick and block construction and is natural sand processed as a second, finer product using hydraulic classification equipment primarily set up to make concrete sand or asphalt sand.  It is usually a clean white sand and can be used to make mortar, concrete, custom mixed soils and sandbox sand.
